Children's Ministry
"Grow a passion for God, His Son, and His Word in the next generation so they will not turn back in the day of battle."
To work toward that vision, we've employed the use of curricula from Children Desiring God for our Pre-K and Elementary age students. We have Sunday School every Sunday at 10:45am. But, more important than any class we can facilitate is the partnership we build with you, the parent, as you "Train [your] child in the way he should go."
A word on what to do when you bring your child to Homeport:
I hope everyone is enjoying our new process of signing-in the children each week and that it will bring on a little more of that "safe" feeling, as we move forward. This is the way the sign-in process should work: You bring your children to the sign-in table in the main , sign-in, get a nametag and a pick-up tag, and either take those in the nursery or pre-K to their classrooms, have your children sit with you during the musical worship, or have the elementary-aged children sit with the adult leaders during musical worship. If you'd like to worship together as a family, that is great, and we actually encourage that. Just send the children out the back door when the singing has concluded. If you're new and your children do not have their own name tags, stop by the sign-in table, and we'll get you registered. When the service has concluded, you simply take your pick-up tag to your child's classroom, give the teacher the tag, and you will receive your child. The pick-up tags have a photograph of the parents on them, so that only parents can pick-up children when Sunday School has ended.
Thanks for your cooperation!
